NDCS' Family Sign Language curriculum was created to support families with a deaf child in developing visual communication skills. Taught using a child-centred approach using toys and games, parents are taught a BSL vocabulary appropriate for a child aged 0-8, covering topics such as family, mealtimes, daily routines, toys and games, and storytelling.
Your Child, Your Choices is delighted to offer an adapted Family Sign Language course for Early Years professionals. This intensive training day will equip participants with deaf awareness and basic signing skills for use in educational settings, taught by a qualified and experience Family Sign tutor.
This training day is free to attend, and is aimed at educational staff working directly with deaf children aged 0-8 years. No previous signing experience is necessary, and you can expect a relaxed, interactive day which builds skills and boosts confidence.
Places are extremely limited for this training, so book early. Should you require further information, please contact Emma Galloway on 0141 354 7856 or emma.galloway@ndcs.org.uk
